Jumping Into The New Year

A letter to myself…

Hey you! Haileigh! Yeah you!

I know things have been hard, you’ve made some iffy decisions, and everything this year has been a learning process. But guess what? Things are going to be 10x better this year!

For as long as you can remember, you’ve dealt with your image. How you look, talk, or interact with other people. You’ve done so much to try to change and fit in.

You think that some people won’t like you because your to short, or you have freckles, or you may weigh to much. At the end of 2015 you learned – aka finally realized – that none of that matters! People don’t chose their friends based on silly things like that!

This year is going to be about you. You’re going to focus on what you need. You love to help people and fix their problems. In the end though, it just causes more stress for you and thats not good for anyone!

This year your going to take a step back, cleanse your mind, and breathe.

This year your going to give up social media for a few weeks – goodbye instagram, tumblr, and snapchat, you will be missed -, do that super crazy health cleanse for 21 days – hello vegetables, your all I’ll be having for a while -, and your going to do what you want when it comes to exercise.

You’re also gonna stop second guessing yourself. Don’t hold back your ideas, wants, and opinions.

When you did that for those amazing 10 days during the summer, you were the real you! And people liked you that way!

Get back to that version of you! The one who pushed herself to crazy things, didn’t take no for an answer, laughed and cried at the same time but was so incredibly happy all together, and lived her life passionately without looking back.

Great things are going to happen in the next year.

  1. You’ll turn 16 and get your drivers license.
  2. You’ll travel a ton.
  3. You’ll finally start your photography business. (Your ready for it!)
  4. You’ll finish up high school

That’s just the planned stuff! Imagine all of the amazing things that are going to happen that aren’t planned! Who knows what will come. Whatever it is, your going to take the world by storm and not look back.

Lots of love.

xoxo

A letter to my readers….

Dear you,

I know that times may be tough and you feel like it’s time to give up and forget about it. Don’t! You’re the most amazing person you and I both know and you can do absolutely anything!

Don’t ever ever give up on your dreams or let anyone tell you “no”. Because you can! You always can. No matter what, you can pick up the pieces, move on, and do it all over again.

Don’t ever stop trying. If you fail, and fall on your face, don’t sit there and give up! Take a deep breath, pick yourself up, and try again. Don’t ever give up.

Don’t overthink things. I’m a big over thinker and I’m always stopping myself from doing things I really want to. Don’t do that! Be the person you’ve dreamed of being – because really, you already are – and get out there and do it!

An idea comes into your head, go do it! Don’t think of all the reasons why you can’t! Because you can!!

My wish for you, this new years, is to be the you you’ve always wanted to be, live life without boundaries, don’t take “no” for an answer, and chase your dreams. Never, ever give up on what you want.

xoxo

Haileigh, that was a beautiful and insightful letter you wrote to yourself, and like Nita, I am proud of you (and I wish I knew you better). Keep recording your interpretations of the world around you and let me know if you ever get into shooting film; I have a couple of Nikons sitting idly in the basement. Roone
